I can use a little less excitement in my life.

And so I was eating an apple,
Just chilling out at home.
So boring eh.
Got nothing (and no-one) planned for Christmas anyway.

Was home rather late today,
Due to a couple of arseholes.
Who insisted on trying shoes,
When it was time for me to leave.
And they didn't buy in the end.

I was already pretty sian,
About having to work for 8 straight days,
Beginning on Christmas eve.

Then it happened.
Got a call at quarter past eleven from Tiffany,
Asking me to go back to the shop immediately.
Apparently the shop had been broken into.
And the security office had mentioned,
That the shutters had been forced open to the point,
Where it was wide enough for one person to go through.

No joke.
I felt sick upon hearing the news.
Because I was the one who locked up the shop,
If anything goes wrong,
I would be the one taking the blame.

And from what they said,
It seemed that it happened,
Because I did not lock the shutters properly.

But it can't be.

I rode like a mad man there,
With all the worst case scenarios running through my head.
Isn't this the best way to celebrate Christmas?

The security guard was outside waiting for me,
When I finally reached the shop.
The second I saw the shutters,
I knew it wasn't my fault.
Phew.
First sigh of relief.
Someone had forced it open,
And it wasn't because I hadn't locked up properly.
Ran to inspect the cashbox and the stock.
Everything intact.
Double phew.
Both supervisors came running 15 minutes after I arrived.
We checked the whole shop,
And everything was in its place.

Honestly,
I'm still in shock now.
What luck.
And I'm opening shop tomorrow somemore.

Received an email from the dean's office.
They've rejected my request,
For an extension of my candidature period.
So I'm supposed to send in another appeal.

I don't understand.
Then why bother to offer me honours?
My head is spinning right now.
I don't feel like studying anymore.

I'm just glad I don't have to pay for the shop's losses.
Cos there were none.

Phew again.

Merry Christmas,
Boys and girls.
And whatever else that comes in between.

God bless.
