I'm deadbeat.
The "I'm so tired,
My double eyelids have disappeared" kind of tired.
I woke up at 7pm,
Head spinning and body aching,
Not surprising,
Since I only managed to fall asleep after 11am.
And that was after I realized,
The only way to get some beauty sleep,
Was to switch my phone to silent mode.
For some strange reason,
Everyone's up nice and early,
To send out sms greetings on Christmas Day.
By the way I'm too lazy to reply,
So I'll just say it here.
Merry Christmas guys!
Anyway, I'm just contented,
To stay at home and recuperate today.
Come to think of it,
I was deliriously happy last night,
Cos it was the first Christmas in years,
I wasn't thinking about trying to kill myself.
After a couple of breakdowns in communication,
We (Mel, Mich, Cherie and yours truly),
Managed to get our asses down to Coccolatte,
Before we end up doing the countdown on the streets.
And then we did what we did best every year,
And everywhere, to get in free - name drop,
Cos someone's sister owns the place.
I haven't enjoyed clubbing for a long time,
But it seems as though everyone there,
Was out to have a good time yesterday night,
And I sure did,
Dancing with friends I haven't seen in ages.
Er yeah, I did say "dance",
Though I'm pretty sure nobody,
Has actually seen me dance in years.
Maybe because there was enough alcohol,
To keep me going,
And also the fact that the music,
Was exactly what's on my playlist back home.
Too bad there was next to nil ventilation,
And everyone was pretty close to passing out any moment.
I think it was around 2,
When the rest wanted to move over,
To a party on a yacht,
Which I remember going to a couple of years back.
I remembered it was kinda boring,
And true enough it was damn boring again this year.
The music was boring,
Though there was free booze,
Which explains why there was puke everywhere.
The only highlight,
(If you really want to call it a highlight),
Was seeing Taufik Batisah,
Though he was leaving just as we were arriving.
Will,
Who had joined me later at Coccolatte,
Spent the morning with me,
Having breakfast at Mcdonald's,
And cursing each other.
As the sky grew brighter,
I found myself speedwalking home,
As though I am a vampire,
Suffering from sun-induced strength depletion.
I jumped into bed immediately,
But instead spent many hours tossing and turning,
Eyes tearing incessantly,
As I desperately tried to fall asleep,
While wishing that I was dead.
Can't wait to do this again next year.
