"This is pretty close to slavery, yes?"
Ah.
I survived one week of work!
I'm really pleased with myself for not quitting,
Or lashing out at any rude customers.
(Trust me, there are lots.)
I guess,
It's possible to do anything,
If you put your heart into it.
And when you need the money as well,
I don't think I really had much of a choice.
Because of the on-going sale,
And a manpower shortage,
I've been working overtime everyday,
Reaching home only when it's past midnight.
Now,
That's bloody tiring.
There was one night I had to stay till 2.30am.
Obviously the mall was already closed,
But we had tons of packing and arranging to do.
Sigh.
Sometimes I don't think I could've survived,
If not for the fact that I'm on T.
Can't wait to get my paycheck next month.
I think I'll feel better then.
On a slightly better note,
They changed the uniform!
No more ugly baggy t-shirt and ugly 3/4 denim pants!
Instead,
I get to wear stripey polos and 3/4 khakis!
Still three-quarts,
But these look ten times better.
And the polos?
One of them is hot pink with grey stripes.
Now that I look reasonably presentable,
I don't mind if people I know see me,
Or if friends wanna come visit.
This is a great example,
Of how what you wear can affect your mood.
And since there's so much physical labor involved,
I've been eating like a pig,
Spending lots of money on food,
And also growing fatter.
Yes it's tiring.
And I don't think I have any time to go out at all.
But my colleagues are nice people,
And parking is free!
What else can I ask for?
Or should I not be so easily satisfied?
