"Praying for a fresh start."

I tried logging on several times today,
But somehow I just couldn't access the internet.

So I just laid on my bed and cursed Starhub.

Afterall,
There was a similar incident a few weeks ago.
Cable services were disrupted for more than an hour,
For the entire row of houses on my street.

No tv, no internet, no explanation.

But just now I went to check on my modem,
And I realized that the connection was loose.
Not Starhub's fault haha.

So life's back to normal,
Now that the elections are over.
Don't know what I was so excited about anyway.

And I think the enthusiasm,
That came from being a first-time voter,
Will gradually be replaced by apathy,
And a sense of resignation,
That certain things will never, ever change.

But nevermind.

There are other things to be excited about.
Like,
The upcoming GSS and...

THE WORLD CUP!!!

Firstly,
The GSS.
If you're working in town,
You'll be facing ten times the temptation.
Too bad I won't be able to spend much...

(There are 10, 000 things that I want,
But none that I really need anyway)

Because I'm probably quitting soon.

The lease for the shop will end in October,
And I don't think they're going to open a new one...

Like I needed another reason to leave this deadend job.

Everyone else is leaving too,
So I hope the Taiwanese people have fun managing!

And I was thinking,
Since I have to leave sooner or later,
I might as well do it earlier,
So that I can watch the World Cup in June.

In case that's what you were thinking,
No, I don't bet on soccer matches.
I only remember placing a bet once,
That was 4 years ago during the last World Cup.

And I lost $20 betting on Germany during the final.

And that was the end of it.
