"Hazy days are here again."
What kind of Mid-Autumn Festival is this,
When you can't even see the moon?
I've always hated the haze,
But this time I have a more legitimate reason:
It's literally making me sick.
I don't know why,
But my nose started becoming hyper-sensitive this year,
So now I've totally lost my sense of smell,
And sometimes it gets to the point where I can't breathe.
Even my "xian dan" loratidine doesn't work anymore.
Why don't someone grant the Indonesian farmers their wish,
And flatten the archipelago with a series of bombings,
So that all the land can be cleared instantly?
No need to waste time burning the forests,
Just bomb everything away.
Every day I just wake up,
And pray that the situation is getting better,
But it never happens.
And it's not just the haze that's getting me down.
It's just incredible the kind of people,
You get to meet when you're in the retail industry.
It gets to the point,
Where you wonder,
Where the fuck did these people come from,
And how did they survive to this age,
Without getting beaten to a pulp?
"What makes you think you have the right,
To speak to me in this manner?"
It sounds kinda funny on hindsight,
But if you were in my position,
Trust me,
You would've said something worse.
From threatening to sue me,
And placing his stinking face to within 5cm of mine,
To calling me 'faggot', 'stupid',
And God knows what else,
And inviting me to 'swing my arm at him',
I just don't know what the fuck is wrong,
With society today.
Yup,
All from this guy who calls himself "Dr Philip Tan".
More likely a mental hosital escapee.
He wouldn't leave till I apologize to him.
But of course, he had to go,
Without getting what he wanted.
Now that I think about it,
The funniest part,
Was probably when we were both accusing each other,
Of arrogance.
No no wait,
The funniest part, was when he said,
"I'm older, smarter and more handsome than you!"
This coming from a man,
Who's old enough to be my father.
Sometimes, I really wonder,
What kind of evil things I've done in my previous life,
To deserve all this shit.
Thankfully I feel better now,
After spending some time with Prince.
Now I know why it's so exciting for parents,
When their kids add new words to their vocabulary.
Cos it's just as exhilarating,
When your parrot does the same thing.
Oh, I got new specs by the way.
No more tortoiseshell frames for me.
